What a Residential Clean Actually Covers

March 12, 2026 Magic Cleaning

People often ask why one cleaning quote is double another. Almost always it is because the two quotes are for different services. A standard clean, a deep clean, and a move in/out clean cover different ground, and knowing which you need is the fastest way to get an accurate price.

A standard clean is maintenance. We dust and clean all surfaces, vacuum, sweep and mop the floors, clean bathroom mirrors, sinks, counters, tub, shower and toilets, wipe the kitchen sink, counters, stove top and burner grates, clean inside and outside the microwave and the outside of the fridge and oven, and take out the trash. It keeps a home that is already in good shape looking that way.

A deep clean adds the parts that get skipped week to week: blinds, fans, window frames, and the inside of the oven and fridge. It is the right first visit for a home that has not been professionally cleaned in a while, and it is what makes a recurring standard clean viable afterwards.

A move in/out clean is the most thorough of the three. On top of everything in a deep clean we work through the inside of cabinets, because an empty property shows every surface a tenant or buyer will open. That is the work that gets deposits returned and listings shown well.

If you are not sure which one your home needs, tell us the square footage and roughly when it was last cleaned and we will tell you honestly. Call or text (224) 566-3090 for a free estimate.
