Move out inspections are more predictable than most tenants expect. Inspectors check the same handful of places every time, and those places are exactly the ones a normal weekly clean never touches.
Inside the appliances comes first. The oven, the fridge and the microwave are opened on essentially every inspection. A fridge with sticky shelves or an oven with baked-on residue is the most common single deduction we see.
Then the empty surfaces. Once furniture is gone, everything shows: baseboards, door frames, light switches, window sills and tracks, and the insides of cabinets and closets. These read as neglect in an empty property even when the rest of the home is spotless.
Bathrooms are judged on descaling rather than tidiness. Hard water in a lot of Lake County properties leaves scale on glass and fixtures that a general spray will not shift — it needs a descaler and time to work.
Floors go last, always. Clean them first and the dust from everything above lands straight back on them.
If you are handing keys over soon, a move out clean is usually cheaper than the deduction it prevents. Call (224) 566-3090 for a free estimate.
